The Airbus ACJ220 is a business aviation adaptation of the A220-100 commercial airliner, developed by Airbus Corporate Jets to serve the upper end of the large-cabin, long-range private jet market. Introduced in 2020 and based on the highly efficient A220 platform (originally developed by Bombardier as the CSeries CS100), the ACJ220 offers a blend of airline-class engineering with a fully customized, VIP-configured cabin.
First deliveries of the ACJ220 began in early 2023, following its formal launch in late 2020. The aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW1524G geared turbofan engines, each delivering approximately 23,300 pounds of thrust. With these engines and additional center tanks, the ACJ220 achieves a maximum range of 5,680 nautical miles, allowing nonstop intercontinental missions such as Los Angeles to London or Dubai to Tokyo. It offers a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.82 and a maximum takeoff weight of 140,500 pounds.
Inside, the ACJ220 features a fully customized interior for business and head-of-state missions, with typical layouts accommodating up to 19 passengers. The cabin is divided into multiple living zones with options for lounges, private suites, and conference spaces. Total cabin volume measures 5,150 cubic feet, offering more space than traditional large-cabin business jets and significantly enhanced flexibility for long-duration travel.
The ACJ220 combines proven commercial airframe reliability with VIP comfort, making it a compelling choice for governments, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals seeking widebody-style amenities on a single-aisle platform.
