The Airbus ACJ321 is the largest variant of the A320 family offered in VIP configuration, delivering a highly customizable wide-cabin experience with intercontinental range and commercial reliability. Based on the A321ceo platform, the ACJ321 offers expanded floor space and flexibility, making it popular among governments, corporate flight departments, and heads of state.
Powered by either CFM56-5B or IAE V2500 engines—each producing approximately 32,000 pounds of thrust—the ACJ321 delivers a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.82 (about 470 knots) and a service ceiling of 39,000 feet. With optional additional center tanks (ACTs), it achieves a maximum range of approximately 4,100 nautical miles, depending on cabin configuration and fuel load.
The aircraft features a spacious cabin with a total volume of approximately 8,600 cubic feet, offering design flexibility for private suites, lounges, conference areas, and staff seating. The ACJ321 typically seats up to 19 passengers in VIP layouts but can be outfitted for various mission types, including medevac and troop transport.
First flown in 1993, the A321 entered commercial service shortly after and the ACJ321 variant began production in 2000. Though later surpassed by the more fuel-efficient ACJ321neo, the ACJ321 remains in limited operation among VIP and government fleets.
