The Airbus H135 T3, formerly designated EC135 T3, is a high-performance light twin-engine helicopter developed by Airbus Helicopters as an advanced evolution of the EC135 family. Introduced in 2014, the T3 variant incorporates aerodynamic refinements, engine upgrades, and advanced avionics to enhance mission capability across civil and public service sectors.
Powered by two Safran Arrius 2B2 Plus turboshaft engines, the H135 T3 delivers improved hot-and-high performance and increased payload capacity. It features a maximum cruise speed of 136 knots, and a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 6,504 lbs (2,950 kg). The aircraft achieves a rate of climb of 1,450 fpm and operates at a service ceiling of 20,000 ft, making it well-suited for demanding environments.
The T3 variant introduces a wider main rotor and repositioned engine air intakes for optimized airflow and cooling. It also includes updated FADEC software and modifications to the Fenestron tail rotor for improved anti-torque control. The cockpit is equipped with the Helionix® avionics suite, featuring Garmin GTN750, First Limit Indicator, and Light Aircraft Recording System, enhancing pilot situational awareness and reducing workload.
The cabin supports up to 6 passengers (excluding crew) in flexible configurations for VIP transport, EMS, law enforcement, and offshore operations. The flat-floor design, wide sliding doors, and low acoustic signature make it ideal for urban and utility missions.
With its blend of reliability, advanced systems, and multi-role adaptability, the H135 T3 continues to be a preferred platform for operators requiring a modern, efficient light helicopter with proven performance.
