Blackhawk Modifications has taken the Cessna Caravan and swapped the original Pratt & Whitney, 675 shp, PT6A-114A engine with a PT6A-42A producing 850 shp. The modification package also includes a new Hartzell 100-inch, four-blade propeller as well as a new cowling to accommodate the new engine and new Frakes exhaust stacks.
The bigger engine greatly improves climb rates on less fuel. Takeoff distance, range and speed are also improved.
