The Encore+ was introduced at the 2005 NBAA convention in Orlando, FL. Maximum takeoff weight for the Citation Encore+ was increased by 200 pounds over the Encore, enabling the typical operator to have a full fuel payload (in addition to two pilots) in excess of 1,100 pounds. The Citation Encore+ is certified for single pilot operation. The Encore+ offers twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535B engines equipped with dual-channel full authority digital engine control (FADEC), each rated at 3,400 pounds of thrust.
The Citation Encore is a Citation Ultra with upgraded Pratt & Whitney PW535 engines that produce 3,400 pounds of thrust each. This is an increase of 355 pounds of thrust for each engine. There is no big change in performance but engine costs drop almost 20 percent and fuel costs drop 8 percent. The Encore was unveiled at the 1998 NBAA convention. The Encore has the same Honeywell Primus 1000 electronic flight instrument system avionics suite used in the Ultra.
The Encore+ received its certification in 2006, with deliveries starting shortly after that.
