The Cessna Citation Latitude is a mid-size business jet developed by Textron Aviation as a clean-sheet platform within the broader Citation family. Introduced to fill the gap between the Citation XLS+ and Citation Sovereign+, the Latitude marked a strategic evolution in Cessna’s product line by offering a spacious, flat-floor cabin with a stand-up height of six feet—features previously limited to larger jets.
First flown in February 2014 and certified in June 2015, the Citation Latitude remains in active production. It introduced a number of structural and aerodynamic enhancements over previous Citation models, including an all-new fuselage mated with the wing of the Citation Sovereign+. The aircraft is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D1 turbofan engines, each producing 5,907 pounds of thrust, enabling a max cruise speed of 446 knots and a range of 2,700 nautical miles with four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves.
The cockpit is equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, offering full touchscreen control, synthetic vision, and advanced flight planning tools. Autothrottles and emergency descent mode add operational safety and efficiency. The aircraft’s maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) is 30,800 pounds.
Cabin layout represents a significant leap in passenger comfort for a jet in this segment. With a total cabin volume of approximately 587 cubic feet, the Latitude offers club seating for eight passengers, a flat floor throughout, and standard Wi-Fi connectivity. A forward galley and aft lavatory with external service access enhance mission flexibility for business travelers.
The Latitude has proven popular with corporate flight departments and fractional ownership programs due to its cost-efficiency, modern comfort, and reliable performance. Its balanced combination of range, speed, and operational economy positions it as one of the most successful midsize jets in the current market.
