The SR22T-GTS is a turbocharged version of the successful SR22.
Side-stick controllers are featured in all Cirrus aircraft. Also standard is the Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System, which can be deployed in the case of an emergency. The system was tested and a landing at the maximum rate of descent did not create loads that would cause injury to the occupants.
The fifth-generation model has a larger parachute to handle the potentially heavier airframe, as payload has been increased by 200 pounds. The chute is now fired by a larger rocket and fail-safe electronic ignition, rather than the old pyrotechnic method. The one-piece, carbon-fiber wing spar has been strengthened as well. The Cirrus now include five seats as standard, although the fifth seat is only large enough for a child.
The Cirrus SR22T-GTS is equipped with the Garmin G1000-based Cirrus Perspective avionics suite, flight into known icing kit, front seatbelt airbags, and air conditioning as standard.
