The Embraer Lineage 1000E is an ultra-large-cabin business jet developed as a VIP adaptation of the Embraer E190 regional airliner, combining commercial-aircraft reliability with long-range executive capability. The Lineage program was launched in the mid-2000s to position Embraer in the large-cabin segment, with the original Lineage 1000 forming the baseline and the enhanced Lineage 1000E introduced as its extended-range evolution.
The Lineage 1000 made its first flight on October 26, 2007, entered service in 2009, and the Lineage 1000E variant was introduced in 2013. The enhanced model incorporated increased fuel capacity and weight optimizations to significantly extend range. Production of the Lineage series concluded in 2020, marking the end of Embraer’s airliner-based VIP jet offering.
Powered by two General Electric CF34-10E7-B turbofan engines, each producing approximately 18,500 lbf of thrust, the Lineage 1000E offers a maximum range of about 4,600 nautical miles, enabling nonstop intercontinental missions such as North America to Europe or Asia to the Middle East. Typical cruise speed is approximately Mach 0.82, with a maximum operating altitude of 41,000 feet. The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 120,152 lb and a balanced field takeoff distance near 6,100 feet, reflecting its airline-class performance envelope.
The defining feature of the Lineage 1000E is its expansive flat-floor cabin, one of the largest in business aviation. Typical business configurations accommodate up to 19 passengers across as many as five distinct cabin zones, which may include a forward lounge, dining or conference area, private office, full-size bedroom, and en-suite lavatory with optional stand-up shower. The cabin measures approximately 84 feet in length, 8.5 feet in width, and 6.5 feet in height, delivering a total cabin volume of roughly 3,900 cubic feet, complemented by large in-flight accessible baggage capacity.
Designed for heads of state, corporate flight departments, and VIP charter operators, the Lineage 1000E offers airliner-level dispatch reliability with a residential-style interior, occupying a unique niche between traditional large-cabin business jets and larger BBJ or ACJ platforms.
