The Embraer Phenom 100EV is an enhanced evolution of the original Phenom 100, representing the most capable and refined version of Embraer’s very light jet platform. Built on the EMB-500 Phenom 100 airframe, the EV variant was introduced to extend range, improve hot-and-high performance, and modernize avionics while retaining the aircraft’s core mission as an efficient owner-operated and fleet solution.
The Phenom 100 program made its first flight on July 26, 2007, entered production in 2008, and the Phenom 100EV variant entered service in 2017 following certification. Production of the Phenom 100 family concluded in the early 2020s as Embraer transitioned its focus toward larger light-jet offerings.
The Phenom 100EV is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F-E turbofan engines, each rated at approximately 1,730 lbf of thrust, optimized through aerodynamic refinements and software updates unique to the EV. These changes increased maximum range to approximately 1,050 nautical miles with four occupants and NBAA IFR reserves. Typical high-speed cruise is about 406 KTAS, with a maximum operating altitude of 41,000 feet. Maximum takeoff weight is approximately 10,472 lb, and takeoff distance under ISA sea-level conditions is just over 3,100 feet, supporting operations at shorter runways and higher elevations.
The EV introduced notable cockpit upgrades, transitioning from the original Garmin Prodigy G1000 suite to the Garmin Prodigy Touch G3000, significantly enhancing pilot workload management and situational awareness. Airframe refinements and reduced weight also contributed to improved climb performance and fuel efficiency.
The cabin retains Embraer’s oval cross-section design developed with BMW Designworks, offering seating for four to six business passengers depending on configuration. Cabin dimensions remain approximately 11 feet in length, 5.1 feet in width, and 4.9 feet in height, with large windows, flat sidewalls, and aft lavatory options supporting extended mission comfort.
Positioned as a premium very light jet, the Phenom 100EV delivers extended range and modern avionics in a proven platform, making it attractive for corporate, charter, and training operations requiring reliable short-to-medium stage length performance.
