The Embraer Praetor 600 is a super-midsize business jet derived from the Legacy 500 platform, featuring major upgrades in range, performance, and cabin experience. Announced in October 2018 and certified by ANAC, FAA, and EASA in April 2019, the aircraft entered service later that same year.
While maintaining the Legacy 500’s fuselage and fly-by-wire foundation, the Praetor 600 introduces swept winglets, additional fuel tanks, and updated systems to push range and mission flexibility. These improvements enable a maximum range of 3,900 nautical miles (NBAA IFR, 4 pax), allowing nonstop flights such as London to New York or São Paulo to Miami—solidifying its transatlantic credentials.
The aircraft is powered by two Honeywell HTF7500E engines, each generating 7,528 pounds of thrust, providing improved climb performance and fuel efficiency. With a takeoff field length of 4,717 feet and a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.83, the Praetor 600 balances long-range capability with airport versatility. Cabin altitude is maintained at just 5,800 feet at FL450, supporting passenger wellness on longer sectors.
Inside, the flat-floor cabin can accommodate up to 12 passengers in various seating arrangements. Features include fully berthable seats, a stone-floored galley and lavatory, optional divan, and a generous in-flight-accessible baggage hold. Embraer’s attention to detail extends to advanced cabin technologies, such as Ka-band connectivity and touchscreen cabin controls.
As Embraer’s flagship business jet, the Praetor 600 offers a compelling mix of efficiency, range, and luxury. Competing with aircraft like the Challenger 650 and G280, it provides long-range performance at a lower operating cost, making it a strategic choice for both corporate flight departments and high-utilization charter operators.
