The Gulfstream G600 is a large-cabin, long-range business jet that builds upon the technological foundation of the G500 while introducing enhancements in range, cabin configuration, and avionics systems. It is part of Gulfstream’s next-generation platform that evolved from the G550, offering increased performance, efficiency, and cabin comfort.
The G600 had its first flight in December 2016, with production beginning shortly thereafter. It received FAA certification in June 2019 and entered service the same year. Gulfstream designed the G600 with a new wing structure, optimized aerodynamics, and upgraded Pratt & Whitney Canada PW815GA engines, each producing 15,680 pounds of thrust. These upgrades enable a maximum range of 6,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, or 5,600 nautical miles at Mach 0.90.
The aircraft’s long-range cruise speed is Mach 0.85, with a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, and a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925. The G600 supports a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 94,600 pounds and requires approximately 5,700 feet of runway for takeoff. Its cabin volume is 1,884 cubic feet, offering generous space for long-haul comfort.
The interior cabin measures 45 feet 2 inches in length (excluding baggage area), 7 feet 11 inches in width, and 6 feet 4 inches in height. The G600 typically seats up to 13 passengers in a standard business layout, with flexible zones for work, dining, and rest. The aircraft features Gulfstream’s Symmetry Flight Deck with active control sidesticks and advanced touchscreen avionics.
Operators value the G600 for its blend of speed, range, and cabin innovation, making it ideal for intercontinental missions with nonstop capability between destinations such as New York and Dubai or London and Buenos Aires.
