The P180 has a unique three-lifting surface design and pusher turboprop engines. The aircraft was designed to offer near jet-like handling and performance with turboprop efficiency and costs.
It has a maximum speed in excess of 400 ktas (740 km/h) and a maximum range of 1,370 nautical miles, with NBAA IFR 200 nautical miles of reserve fuel. Its ceiling of 41,000 feet (12,500 meters) is similar to that of many entry-level jets. The pressurization system (with a maximum pressure differential of 9.0 psi), allows the P180 to maintain sea-level cabin pressure up to an altitude of 24,000 feet (7,300 meters) in order to take advantage of its speed and fuel efficiency at altitude.
The P180 Avanti II seats 7– 9 passengers. With a cabin height of 5.8 feet and a length of over 17 feet, it offers about 20 percent more cabin volume compared to most turboprops under 12,500 pounds takeoff weight.
