The Pilatus PC-12 NGX is the latest iteration of the successful PC-12 turboprop platform, which has long been known for its rugged versatility, cabin comfort, and short-field performance. Introduced in 2019 as the next-generation update to the PC-12 NG, the NGX brings notable improvements in avionics, engine technology, and passenger experience.
At the heart of the NGX is the upgraded Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6E-67XP engine, delivering 1,200 shaft horsepower. This engine features a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), making the PC-12 NGX the first turboprop in its class to offer single-lever power control. The aircraft achieves a maximum cruise speed of 290 knots and a maximum takeoff weight of 10,450 pounds.
Production of the PC-12 NGX began in 2019, continuing the PC-12 legacy that dates back to the platform’s first flight in 1991. With over 2,000 PC-12 series aircraft delivered globally, the NGX benefits from a proven track record while introducing modern enhancements. The NGX features updated Honeywell Primus Apex avionics and a quieter, redesigned cabin that draws inspiration from the Pilatus PC-24 jet.
The cabin typically seats up to 10 passengers in a pressurized environment and includes larger windows, improved lighting, and executive-style furnishings. With a total cabin volume of 356 cubic feet and a flat floor design, the aircraft supports various configurations, including executive, cargo, medevac, and utility roles.
The PC-12 NGX is widely regarded for its efficiency, reliability, and ability to access short and unimproved runways. Operators value its blend of turboprop economics and near-jet performance, making it one of the most versatile single-engine aircraft on the market.
