History The Cheyenne I and II series are essentially turboprop versions of the popular PA31 Navajo. The original Cheyenne prototype first flew in 1969. Later named the Cheyenne II, it entered production in 1974 as a PA-31T-620. The 620 designation refers to its 620 shp PT6A-28 engines. The company produced 528 Model IIs from 1974 through 1983. It shares the same cabin with the Cheyenne I/IA, but has better performance due to its higher hp engines. The Cheyenne II typically seats five passengers in the cabin and has a small aft lavatory.
